LLEWELYN ESCAPES SERIOUS INJURY

The driver of the Toyota Auris decided to not stop at the trafic intersection of Argyle and the N4, but try fly over all the stationary cars at the trafic lights. My car was the first impacted and then proceeeded to damage 5 other cars before coming to a halt. Incidently there was no skid marks indicating the driver had not even tried to avoid the accident. My rear wheel was ripped from the chassis (see picture) and I was slammed against the truck. The driver was under the influence and had no drivers licence. So what an end to 2008. I am patiently waiting for the Insurance Company to arrange a hired car for me. What an inconvenience. Still I could have sustained serious injury.
God was looking out for me.

STEP-FATHER PASSED AWAY 1/10/2008

Sadly my step-father passed away on the 1st October. After nearly 28 years of marriage my mother is all alone.
She has agreed to move to Cape Town to live with my sister as soon as the house in East London is sold. A very stressful time for me as I try to conduct all her affairs from Durban.
Here are some photos from the funeral showing family from the Roets and Wewege sides.

LLEWELYN LEARNS TO PLAY VIOLIN

Three months ago I decided to learn to play the violin. I have joined the Umhlanga Late Starters Orchestra (ULSO), which consists of adults who have started to learn to play the violin late in life. I am really enjoying the experience so much.
This is the violin I purchased for R 2500, a Stentor violin.
If I can improve my reading of music I am hoping to join two other ladies in the Orchestra on a trip to Greece in May to meet with Late Starter Orchestra representatives from all over the world, to play on one of the Greek Islands.
This is an annual event.

So I have huge motivation to improve my playing.

LLEWELYN WRITES NOVEL

Well November month is the National Novel Writing Month in the world. Some 115 000 people committed themselves to write a NOVEL, with a minimum of 50 000 words (175 pages) in a month. I completed my first 50 000 words by the 24/11/08 and received a beautiful certificate and this winners logo.
My book is entitled, "CHARLIE RIGHTWOOD - A RIGHT MESS (a journey from Tarshish to Ninevah). I am now busy with the editing etc. The book will finish at about 80 000 words. I will probably self publish if there is no interest from the USA.
