TRIP TO OLWAZINI MULDERSDRIFT
Trevor Cronje , Head Corporate ABF
My immediate boss on the left, Ray Merrifield
Last week I spent two days at Nedbank's training Centre for our Sales Conference.
What a wonderful two days.Besides working on our strategy for 2007, we took part in some great team building excersises, viz. "drumming" on bongo drums, clay pigeon shooting and riding "quad bikes". Just 10 of us, so it was truly relaxed.
Only negative, my mouth was so sore from mouth ulcers (stress related), that I struggled with my presentation.

Jack and Dianne (my dear friends from Canada), were in his church for many years.Jack and I did some song items in his church as well as attend a mens group on Friday mornings, called, "Men for the Master". I saw Warwick about 21 years ago.A wonderful man of God, who is passionate about the Bible.

Gert was my boss when I worked in the Foreign Exchange Department of Nedbank, while Ailsa was at School with me in East London (Cambridge School). She chased me around the playground when I was only six, trying to kiss me.
I had the privalage of visiting them in Holland in 1996.(Time for another visit!)

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY NO.1
DISSATISFACTION:PRELUDE TO REVIVAL
On Sunday the 20th August, I had the opportunity to preach at the LWCC. I am thankful for the opportunity given to me by Kevin Haviland, who is care-taking the church in the absence of Lindsay, who is away in the USA. I have been wanting to share the above message for a long time. An overview of the message can be seen on: http://whitehousemin.blogspot.com
The theme of the message was, we need the presence of God in our personal lives because "In His presence, is the fullness of joy" The Presence brings REAL JOY, which enables us to live lives that are "complete". In order to find that intimate place in God, we need to seek Him in continual prayer, until "He suddenly comes into our lives". May we all be challenged into a deeper relationship with God.

FRIENDS HALL OF FAME
Here she is, Mrs Rose Ludorf, the mother of Dianne Foster. She is an amazing woman. She walks along the Umhlanga promenade most mornings and she certainly can move. A very fit lady and a very special friend to me. We meet on a regular basis. This photo was taken at "Catz" in Umhlanga Rocks. She joined Alison, Keagan and I for lunch yesterday.

FRIENDS HALL OF FAME
Here is the first couple that I would like to acknowledge in my "Friends Hall of Fame". They are Jack and Dianne Foster who live in Victoria on Vancouver Island. I met Jack around 1984 while I was living in Pietermaritzburg. Jack was working for Armstrong Motors at the time and I was with Nedfin Bank. Jack assisted me greatly in getting established in the Agricultural Market and we shared many memorable moments together. Our friendship grew and as Jack was a very accomplished musician, we soon formed a band, and played together for some 7 years before he and Dianne emmigrated to Canada. The name of the band was "DUO". The other day I found a video of our last function together, played in Port Shepstone in 1992. I have now had it coverted to a DVD. Jack and I looked so young. Dianne is a remarkable woman, super-fit and set many swimming world records for both SA and Canada, as a masters swimmer. Today she runs and cycles as well and spoils Jack. Dianne's Mom lives in Umhlanga and I am in regular contact with her.She is Mrs.Rose Ludorf and has been a very special friend to me. I will get a picture of her soon.

SUSAN ISAACS
Susan lives in LA and is a writer, actress and comedienne.
I love her honesty in dealing with real life problems. In a response to my feeling that as a Christian, "Life aint fair!", she responded,
"I don't know if we'll ever understand why things happen the way that they do. In fact it probably becomes less understandable. I think the faith I was raised with, there was going to be an answer for everything, and a happy ending TO everything. Boy was I wrong about that.
There does seem to be a correlation between spiritual maturity and pain.
But the alternative, no pain also brings spiritual death. I've seen that a lot as well.
I know I can also write off my spiritual pain as Maturity when I'm really just making stupid choices. I also realized I spent a lot of time numbing myself with food, alcohol, even cigarettes, instead of facing the hard stuff.
It just never gets easy.
Madame Guyon wrote something like, "I have learned to love the darkness, because in the darkness I can see the brightness of His face." She was a shut-in or a prisoner. It's these great saints who've been through HELL who come up with these bon-mots. I feel like such a spiritual dwarf compared to them. And yet we've been fed a lot of bad teaching in the midst of it. "
