LLEWELYN SAYS

Was chatting to my friend Kevin today about the "Church" in general. We all know that "we" are the church, the body of Christ, all uniquely gifted and performing specific roles in the church. Using the analogy of the human body, some of us are the hand, some are the fingers etc. none are more special than the other. We are all interdependent of each other. Is the "Church" not becoming obsessed with mega buildings and huge infrastructure? All this seems to affect our mobility to fulfill the great commission, never mind the huge overheads. We become so confortable in our plush chairs that we forfeit the call to "make disciples" of the nations.

I definately agree with Llewelyn! When Jesus walked the earth he did not have a 1 million a month budget or a 5000 seater church building!!! He had faith that his father in heaven would provide!!! If man is created in the image and likeness of God, should we not have more faith?? One of the reasons in my opinion that we have less and less faith in God is Secular Humanism (or phenomenology as the name was recently changed to). The secular humanists slowly erode away our christian values, and in time we accept these small changes. We tend to put our faith in tangible things instead of having geniune faith. Hebrews 11:1 sums faith up nicely. Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.KJV. Which clearly indicates that we should not have faith in ourselves and our own ability. I believe once the church of Christ grasps the concept of faith, then the body of Christ will function as it should.
