EMMYLOU MY ELDEST

Emmylou with her current boyfriend Marc (an up and coming actor in Durban), taken in Christmas 2005. She completes her law degree this year and has already secured a job with a JHB law firm next year. Emmylou is going to apply for a bursary to do her masters at Cambridge University as well. We pray for God to guide her steps. Alison came home this last weekend and although she rested a lot was able to move around the house almost unassisted. Getting stronger every day.We went to church on Sunday and the whole congregation rejoiced in seeing her again. Yesterday I started a new job with Nedbank Corporate. I had been in Retail for 6 years. This will be a lovely change for me.My new position is Asset Based Finance Manager Corporate. Sounds quite important. This weekend I received a DVD from London showing the sights and sounds of my granddaughter Emma. She certainly is so beautiful!
By the way Emmylou means "Emmy belonging to Lou" Lou is short for Llewelyn, so Emmylou belongs to me!!

ALISON A GRANNY!

This is my youngest daughter Hannah and her husband Edward. They visted our home in Pinetown during Christmas 2005. They live in London. Well my darling "Cheapoochie" gave me my first grandchild on the 21st May. So yes I am a grandfather and that would make Alison a grandmother at 38. They have named the little girl, Emma Elizabeth Hannah Lorman.
I cant wait to see her. Hannah is hoping to visit Durban in November while Edward is on business in Cape Town. I will certainly post a picture of Emma shortly.

PLEASE NOTE HANNAH IS NOT HOLDING HER NEW BABY. IT WAS ONE OF ALISON'S CATS. MY AUNTY MARINA IN PORT ELIZABETH THOUGHT IT WAS A BABY!!

ALISON'S FIRST WEEKEND HOME

Well Alison came home on a weekend pass almost a month after she left in the ambulance. (17th June) Seeing her lying in our bed certainly brought back memories of that night she suffered a stroke. The weekend had its ups and downs. The first day and a half I felt really close to Alison but as the weekend progressed she became more irritable with me, as I was too protective over her. She was not stable on her feet so I tendered to hover over her to make sure she did not fall, of course she was unhappy with this as she wanted to do things for herself. Needless to say she did fall a few times. Then Alison complained to me that I had been withholding information from her i.e re the selling of the car etc and demanded all "her things" back, like her wallet, id, bank cards, jewellery etc which I had been looking after when she went to hospital. This did hurt a little and I withdrew from her space. Now she is back at Entabeni for two weeks courtesy of the Medical Aid and will come home gain on the weekend. She is progressing well, getting stronger in the right leg. God please grant me the necessary patience in dealing with Alison this coming weekend.

WOW! GOD IS GOOD

Alison is coming home for the weekend. We are so excited to have a back after a month away from home. She is hoping she wont have to go back again and has been indicating as much to the nurses. When asked why she does extra pushups, she says" because I am not coming back next week"Her speach improves daily and she is now walking without a walking stick.Alison has an ankle brace on to support her weak right leg. The right arm is now been carried by the left arm as she walks, and uses this to steer herself. Of course, she is looking younger and more gorgeous eah day. I know that God will restore her 100%
(Alison seen recently at the A1 Grand Prix, her passion is speed and of course Llewelyn)

LLEWELYN & ALISON

This is the picture I used to create our own Ministries webpage. I showed it to Alison the night before she had a stroke. I had a sense that God had brought us together for a purpose and He would use us as a team for His purposes. I never would have believed that in a split second how lives would have been affected like this.
I know the ways of God are not our ways so we are trusting that God would now reveal to us the "way we should go"
Her sister, Tracy, arrives from Saudi today. Alison is looking forward to her arriving.

LIFE IS BUT A VAPOUR

I realised when Alison had a stroke (she is only 38 years old), that we are so fragile. The Bible talks about our lives being like a vapour. Are we prepared for these unexpected events? How will we handle them? When I saw Alison lying in intensive care, so vulnerable, I knew that we have to make the most of our lives because we never know what the future holds. Only God knows and He has a specific purpose for Alison. The circumstances have certainly shocked a lot of people and if this brings us closer to God, all would not have been in vain.
There are references in the Bible we it says, " and God, at the appointment time....." This speaks to me of order, this shows me God is in control. At the appointed time, God intervened in her life.
Last night I spent some special moments with Alison. We laughed together especially as I tried to understand her "foreign tongue". Yes, she also showed me that she had not forgotten how to kiss.
Thank you Jesus for your shed blood. Thank you that Alison is healed, in Jesus name.

ALISON ON HER WAY BACK

Alison has started on her way back. She worked out in the gym yesterday encouraging her paralysed side to start functioning again. Certainly saying a lot more words although not always understood. While sitting with her in the garden yesterday, her washed hair blowing in the wind, I realised that I loved her more than ever.
God is good and I have the faith that Alison has been healed and she will be complete again.
I supprised her at breakfast this morning. She was delighted to see me.It made me feel good as in the early days she did not know me. Yes I am glad she is MY wife.

To God be the glory !

UPDATE ON ALISON

Well, who would have thought that my beautiful wife Alison would kiss me good night on the 16th May 2006, and turn over, and suffer a stroke. It has certainly been a very trying time for me and I have asked a lot of questions of God. I believe that God is in control and I have been encouraged by the many prayers that have been offered on her behalf, all around the world. She has made remarkable improvement, although paralysed on her right side, she has some feeling returning. She was unable to speak for the first few days, but gradually she is able to say a few words, which first started as a whisper and now is more audible. On a more humerous side, I am now able to kiss her all over her neck and she is no longer ticklish.
Yesterday, the 5th June, she was moved to the Entabeni Rehab Centre, for speach therapy and physio, to help her to walk again.
I am trusting God to complete the restoration work and soon she will be coming home, 100% Alison.
