ALISON'S FIRST WEEKEND HOME
Well Alison came home on a weekend pass almost a month after she left in the ambulance. (17th June) Seeing her lying in our bed certainly brought back memories of that night she suffered a stroke. The weekend had its ups and downs. The first day and a half I felt really close to Alison but as the weekend progressed she became more irritable with me, as I was too protective over her. She was not stable on her feet so I tendered to hover over her to make sure she did not fall, of course she was unhappy with this as she wanted to do things for herself. Needless to say she did fall a few times. Then Alison complained to me that I had been withholding information from her i.e re the selling of the car etc and demanded all "her things" back, like her wallet, id, bank cards, jewellery etc which I had been looking after when she went to hospital. This did hurt a little and I withdrew from her space. Now she is back at Entabeni for two weeks courtesy of the Medical Aid and will come home gain on the weekend. She is progressing well, getting stronger in the right leg. God please grant me the necessary patience in dealing with Alison this coming weekend.
